A guy is in serious condition after falling and experiencing a heart attack at a prominent adventure sports facility in Melbourne.

On Friday at 11.30 a.m., police and paramedics were dispatched to URBNSURF in Tullamarine in response to reports of an unconscious male.

The surfer, estimated to be in his forties, was dragged unconscious from the sea by surrounding surfers, who administered CPR until paramedics arrived.

The individual is said to have received treatment for a head injury before being sent to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in serious condition.

The park was promptly closed after the event.

In addition to a police inquiry, Worksafe has been alerted.

“Our first priority is the health and safety of our customers. As soon as the incident occurred, we immediately closed the park and are continuing to provide our full cooperation to the first responders and police.

“The facility will remain closed until further notice.

“As a police investigation is underway, we are unable to provide any further comment.”

URBNSURF is a wave-generating facility that allows Melburnians to surf 20 minutes from the CBD.
