A car fire on a Melbourne highway killed a woman and two children

The cause of a catastrophic car fire in Melbourne’s south-east that killed three people, including two small children, is being investigated by arson investigators.

The circumstances surrounding the fire in Cranbourne West on Thursday night are still being investigated, although police have said that no suspects have been identified.

The three has yet to be properly recognized, but authorities believe it to be a 30-year-old lady and two little kids.

Just before 8 p.m. on Thursday, Victoria police and fire departments were dispatched to the Western Port Highway fire. Three victims were discovered inside the burnt-out truck when emergency personnel arrived. The crime scene was formed once the fire was put out.

The truck was photographed near a farm gate, just off the roadway.

Investigators are looking for anybody who saw the fire or has dashcam footage of it.
